AAPI Heritage Month - Call for Art

Call for Art - AAPI Heritage Month

Albany Center Gallery (ACG) is accepting submissions for an upcoming exhibition happening at the end of April, which is being held in celebration of AAPI Heritage Month and in partnership with AAPI Heritage Month 518. ACG and curators are inviting local and regional Asian-American and Pacific Islander artists to submit their work for consideration. This call is free and open to the public. ACG is one of the organizations/businesses that AAPI Heritage Month 518 will be partnering with across the area. They will have a website as a guide and reference for the month of things to do in the Capital Region of NY. Stay tuned for the official announcement.

From March 26 to April 20, 2024, Albany Center Gallery is pleased to announce, UN-ARCHIVE, a multi-faceted exhibition which highlights local collectors’ collections, ACG’s archive, and the artwork of several long-time members of the gallery. The show revolves around the idea of looking back, digging into the archives to find hidden gems. An Artists' Reception will be held on April 5, 2024 from 5 - 8 p.m. UN-ARCHIVE is free and open to the public; Tuesday - Saturday, Noon - 5 p.m.

Youth Art Programs

ACG hosts monthly youth art workshops (coined Art.Work.Space.) in partnership with The RED Bookshelf and Honest Weight Food Co-op. The programs are led by local artist mentors on the 2nd Saturday of each month throughout the year. The themes of the workshops will depend on what the youth want and the medium(s) of each artist. We will have workshops in writing, mural painting, screen printing, comic book making, collaging, clothing design, graphic design, watercolor painting, music, poetry, literacy, and more!
