The Connect Center and Albany Center Gallery collaborated on a youth art workshop weekend on April 24 & 25, 2021! The weekend was designed to encourage creativity, collaboration, and youth empowerment.

We worked together with the Connect Center, youth, the Duane X Arts Foundation, and local artist mentors (D. Colin, DeSean Skillz, and Brian White) to fill the Connect Center with youth created murals. Here’s to more artful walls by the young artists’ of the community!

The workshop was geared towards youth ages 15-18 from Cohoes and consisted of two four-hour sessions over Saturday 4/24 and Sunday 4/25 from 11am-3pm. Day one entailed exploring the young artists’ ideas and planning out the art installation/mural. Day two was mostly painting the majority of the piece. Participants also received tote bags full of art supplies to help them continue in their artistic development courtesy of Duane X Arts Foundation.

This workshop weekend was a part of ACG's LOOK! Youth Art Program Series. To learn more about LOOK!, click here.

Partners include Albany Center Gallery, Connect Center, and the Duane X Arts Foundation.
