LOOK! 10 Year anniversary logo by Quill Harrison
UPDATE 7/2/2024: Thank you to the incredible donors of this campaign! Since our programs are year-round, we are ALWAYS accepting donations for youth art programs.
Please join Albany Center Gallery in celebrating 10 years of LOOK! youth art programs. These started as 1 day workshops for National Youth Art Month in March. A decade later, because of your support, consistent and impactful programs are offered year round. Youth gain confidence, comfort, and creative competence through these crucial, free arts programs.
Will you donate to support youth learn essential lifelong skills, express themselves creatively, and build community?
Any amount makes a huge difference. We aim to raise $10,000 to commemorate 10 years of youth art programs. These funds help cover artist mentor stipends, art supplies, and other critical program expenses. With YOUR help, we work to meet the art needs of the community and provide more art accessibility for youth and the community as a whole.
By supporting LOOK! youth art programs, you play an important role in keeping the arts alive and educating the next generation of artists. This programming teaches youth how to hone creative skills and use their voices. Dynamic, welcoming space is cultivated, so youth can explore self-determination and thoughtful creativity at no cost to them. Youth from the programs share that they “enjoy spending time at ACG, trying different types of art.” Annually, 300+ youth are positively impacted through LOOK! youth art programs, which are entirely free. In addition to connecting with artist mentors and ACG staff, youth also foster connections with their peers - creating friendships across neighborhoods and schools. A family shared that these programs have been “great for [their daughter’s] confidence and building her experiences."
Please make your donation by Monday, June 17 to be included in this campaign.
Art inspires us, and especially youth, to process, appreciate, and participate in our lives. Your contributions directly support the local creative community, through stipends to artist mentors. Local artists get compensated for their time and talent in creating a dynamic workshop. An artist mentor shared “The opportunity to invite an intimate, curious, and vulnerable state of being continues to be a gift. We nourished body, mind, and spirit that day. ACG continues to be that essential intersection of community and accessible arts experiences.”
You can donate online here or by mailing a check made out to "Albany Center Gallery" with "LOOK!" in the memo. Mail your donation to 488 Broadway, Suite 107, Albany, NY 12207
This campaign to helps cover the costs of artist mentor stipends, art supplies, and necessary program expenses. Art inspires us, and especially youth, to appreciate and process life. Your contribution flows directly to the local creative community, as ACG supports the artist mentors with generous stipends for teaching youth, as well as covers any costs associated with the arts programming. Youth are the future, and with investment and support they can reach their potential-- adding vibrancy throughout the community as they go. A majority of these programs provide free books, free food, and free art supplies directly to youth in our community. Plus, local artists get compensated for their time and talent!
