DRAWING COMICS: an Art.Work.Space. workshop with Artist Ira Marcks on Saturday, June 10! ✏️📖🎨

Check out photos from the day here!

WOW! What a cool workshop! A huge thank you to Artist Mentor Ira for leading a comic-filled Art.Work.Space Workshop. The youth learned so much about creating characters, drawing emotions & expressions, sequential storytelling, some history behind well known comics like Charlie Brown or Adventure Time (to name a few), and so much more.

The kids even got to read and take home Ira's books SHARK SUMMER and SPIRIT WEEK! They are such great visual tools to show what the end result of drawing comics can look like.

DRAWING COMICS was a workshop for young artists interested in creating sequential art. Students learned the drawing and storytelling skills they'll need to create their own comics and find a deeper appreciation for the stories they love to read. All supplies provided. Hosted by graphic novelist Ira Marcks.
