"Upstate Albany Portrait Landscape" by Gregory Maxwell Dunn

Titled "Upstate Albany Portrait Landscape,” the mural by mixed media artist Gregory Maxwell Dunn was inspired by a desire to depict Albany in different ways. With an emphasis on using bright colors and incorporating 70s/80s elements, Greg created a mural filled with his energy and love to the local community.

Located at the Quackenbush Garage in Downtown Albany.

Words from the artist Greg: "I wanted to add vibrant colors to this wall in Albany with the hope to maybe brighten up someone’s day as they get out of work or if they are on their way to work. It’s always nice to have something new and different to look at especially since I’ve always lived around the area. Growing up in Altamont, NY, I would enjoy collecting old boom boxes and would skate around Albany when it used to be nothing but gray concrete walls. I enjoy bringing back these elements from growing up in the 70s/80s into my creative pieces. For the mural, I wanted something that was compact but also allowed for Albany to be represented in different ways. This mural hopefully shows my energy and love for Albany and the community.”

Albany Center Gallery, Albany Barn, and Albany Parking Authority collaborated in development, management, and creation of this Capital Walls mural. Curated by Tony Iadicicco, this mural is made possible by Albany Parking Authority.
