Liz Zunon, an Albany-born artist who spent her childhood in the Ivory Coast, the west African homeland of her father, brings those disparate influences together in "Geraldine's Reverie," a mural she has begun to paint on a concrete wall in downtown Albany as part of the #CapitalWalls project.

Starting with a chalk sketch earlier this week, Zunon has put primer and otherwise prepared the wall before applying colors next week. The mural wall runs alongside a walkway next to the Clinton Avenue off-ramp from I-787 and across from the north side of the Quackenbush Garage, which features a mural of bluebirds in flight that was painted two years ago by local artist Michael Conlin.
