CHECK IT OUT: February’s Art.Work.Space. Youth Art Workshop: 🎨 “Through Sand and Salt,” a Sand, Salt, Paint & Water creative workshop with Artist Mentor Liz Zunon on Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 12 – 3 p.m.!
Register (free) at the link HERE by Thursday, 2/6!
About the Workshop: Attendees will take inspiration from the desert landscapes in the picture book “Through Sand and Salt: A tale of Discovery Across the Sahara” by Liz Zunon and craft their own artistic desert scenes using sand, salt, water, paint and paper!
Join us for this creative day where you can dig into reference books, chat, and experiment with art materials found in desert areas!
About the Artist Mentor: Liz Zunon is an illustrator, author, and muralist. “I was born in Albany, NY and spent my childhood in a hot, sunny, tropical country in West Africa called the Ivory Coast (Cote d'Ivoire), where people speak French (and many other languages). After returning to the United States, I attended the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and graduated in June 2006 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration. I'm now back in Albany, where I draw, paint, collage, sew, silkscreen, make jewelry, purses, and ponder the endless possibilities of chocolate! My work is largely influenced by the people, places, and things from my childhood in the Ivory Coast as the product of two cultures.”
The workshop is free, and there is limited space in order to foster a proactive learning environment. Registration is REQUIRED. No prior knowledge or experience in the arts nor topic of specific workshop is necessary. Please include a valid email with registration.
