"CELESTIAL DREAMS-A YOUTHFUL OVERTURE" by Alicia Lea & Josh Boyark

Titled "CELESTIAL DREAMS-A YOUTHFUL OVERTURE," the mural by Scotia-based artists Alicia Lea & Josh Boyark drew inspiration to encourage and uplift the next generation of young artists. It invites people to dream big and boldly and to pursue their creative avenues.

Located at The Costumer (1031 Barrett Street, Schenectady, NY 12305)

Words from the artists Alicia and Josh: “A mesmerizing mural that seeks to transport viewers into a realm of creativity and inspiration, targeting the vibrant energy of youth. Against the backdrop of a vast galaxy, the mural intricately weaves together elements that speak to the boundless potential of young minds. Delicate music notes float gracefully, harmonizing with the silhouette of a young girl (the artist's daughter) joyfully blowing dandelion wishes into the universe, symbolizing dreams taking flight. The background is adorned with spiraling film reels, evoking a sense of nostalgia and the timeless magic of storytelling. A solitary rose, a symbol of beauty and growth, blossoms amidst the cosmic scene, serving as a reminder of the beauty that can emerge from imagination. Theater masks come through the composition, mentioning the transformative power of performance and the ability to express oneself. This mural is a whimsical and enchanting creation, crafted to not only captivate the eye but also to spark the imagination and nurture the creative spirit of young individuals. It aims to be a source of encouragement and inspiration, inviting viewers to embrace their own artistic potential and dream boldly."
