From May 2 to June 6, 2025, Albany Center Gallery (ACG) presents Memories in Motion, featuring the works of 3 local and regional artists: Kathy Greenwood, Susan Myers, and Linda Stillman. An Artists’ Reception will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 5 - 8 p.m. Memories in Motion is free and open to the public; Tuesday - Saturday, Noon - 5 p.m.
Memories in Motion delves into the natural transition of time, inviting viewers on a journey of reflection. Artists in this exhibit use various mediums, from cyanotype and acrylic to aluminum cans, to honor and acknowledge tradition and past memories. These works also reflect a reimagining of the past into the present. Memories in Motion focuses on both the softness and harshness of nature that reinterprets function and knowledge.
Kathy Greenwood is both an artist and curator, whose inside-view of the creative process fosters long-term community relationships and visually dynamic installations. Since 2016, she has served as the Director of Exhibitions and Programs at Albany International Airport. Greenwood earned an MFA in textiles from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a BS in Studio Art from the College of Saint Rose. Her work has been featured in a wide range of exhibitions at venues including The Art Complex Museum, Porter Contemporary, the John F. Peto Studio Museum, Chesterwood: A National Historic Trust Site, The University Art Museum/University at Albany, The Samuel Dorsky Museum, The Hyde Collection Art Museum, The Albany Institute of History and Art, Miami International Airport, and the Porter-Phelps Huntington House Museum.
Susan Myers discovered her passion for photography and earned her MFA in Photography from RIT. Post-graduation, she taught at Saint Rose College and Russell Sage. Susan's path shifted with her involvement in Fulton Street Gallery in Troy, joining its board and curating exhibitions with local, national, and international reach. Since 2012, Susan's work has focused on Cyanotype photography, marking a new phase in her artistic journey.
Linda Stillman is a New York based artist. She has been awarded fellowships and residencies at the Virginia Center for Creative Arts, the NYFA MARK program, Wave Hill Winter Workspace and Studios at Mass MoCA. Linda’s work has been featured in many exhibitions in galleries and museums around the country and abroad including the Brooklyn Museum, the Dorsky Museum and the Arts Club of Chicago. Her art work has been reviewed in the New York Times and Hyperallergic. Linda graduated from the University of Pennsylvania (BA), the School of Visual Arts and Vermont College of Fine Arts (MFA).
