Times Union | Students Create Murals for Vacant Properties in Albany

"All three are murals now installed on the streets of Arbor Hill and South End, and all were painted by Albany school kids in “Corner Canvas,” a pilot community-art program linking student artists with vacant properties.

A partnership between Albany Center Gallery, the Albany County Land Bank – which owns the properties -- and 4^th Family social venture, the project aims to enliven abandoned buildings while giving city youth a canvas for their own creative impulses. At the same time, the students say, they hope to inspire others, too."
