Through 57 new murals, New York State Council on the Arts’s new Cultivating Havens for the Arts through Regional Murals program, also called CHARM, has transformed the state into an open-air gallery.

“Public art doesn’t just change what we see, it changes how we feel about where we live,” said Tony Iadicicco, executive director of Albany Center Gallery, in a statement. “The CHARM murals show what’s possible when artists, community partners, and local businesses work side by side: walls become stories, and overlooked places become spaces full of color, culture, and connection. It’s an honor to help bring that creative energy to Albany and to see communities across the state uplift New York’s artists. This initiative is all about bringing more art everywhere.”
