🎨 Join us to make your own papier-mâché beastie with artist & educator, Grace Lang! We will build sculpture armatures out of recyclables, wire and tin foil. Then, we will learn the classic process of applying layers of newspaper and glue to create our creatures. Finally, we will paint and decorate our sculptures to truly bring them to life!

🎨 About the Artist Mentor: Grace Lang is a mixed media artist and educator based in upstate New York, where she creates both two and three-dimensional work that invites playful interpretation of personal myths. She is interested in tactile processes informed by her work with children, as well as world-building though the creation of an imagined language of beasties, icons and glyphs. Grace is a graduate of Parsons School of Design with a BFA in Illustration, as well as Lang College with a BA in Literary Studies. She also holds a Masters in Educational Psychology from the College of Saint Rose. She has participated in artist residencies in China, Germany, and the United States. In addition to her personal art practice, Grace runs Super-Stories, an art education non-profit and Makers Space with her partner.

The workshop is free, and there is limited space in order to foster a proactive learning environment. Registration is REQUIRED. No prior knowledge or experience in the arts nor topic of specific workshop is necessary. Please include a valid email with registration.
