Call for Art: Special ACG Member Opportunity

Calling all ACG members! We are excited to extend an invitation to you to exhibit your work in a special exhibition this summer at the gallery. We know many artists are inspired by other artists and now here's your chance to invite them to showcase with you! Each registered ACG member can invite one non-ACG member to exhibit their work in an exhibit we call Creations: Connections and Collections. The goal of this exhibition is to highlight and expand our network of local and regional artists, and we need your help! 

Current members with an active ACG membership may submit one work of art AND you may invite one artist friend (who isn’t a member of ACG) to submit a work of art as well! Member submission is free, non-members’ submission fee is $25. Special membership opportunity: if non-members wish to become a member of ACG, the submission fee will be credited toward the standard Artist & Friend membership cost of $50.

The exhibition will take place in two of the three segments of the gallery in a salon-style format. Due to limited space, the artwork size is restricted to 24” x 24” including the frame. Sculpture artists are welcome to submit as well, please contact ACG for size limitations. To secure your spot (and your artist friend’s spot) in the exhibition, you must register via Submittable. Once you register, you will receive a Submittable link to invite your artist friend to register; they must complete their registration within 3 days to confirm their inclusion in the exhibit. A limited number of members will be included in the exhibit, so register today!  

Call for Art Dates: now – Monday, June 18 at noon
Exhibit Dates: August 3 – August 18, 2018
Opening Reception: 1st Friday, August 3, 5 - 8 p.m.

Submission Guidelines

• You must have an active ACG membership. Not a member or need to renew? Visit www.albanycentergallery.org/membership to join!
• Submit one ready-to-hang work of art - all 2-dimensional drawings and works on paper must be framed and ready to hang with a wire or sawtooth hanger at the time of drop-off.
• Any medium accepted (2D, 3D or digital). All media is eligible for entry, excluding work previously shown at Albany Center Gallery. 
• Size limitation: 24” x 24" (including mat and frame) (Sculpture artists, please contact the gallery if you have concerns with sizing)
• All works must be labeled on the back with the artist’s name, title, email address and phone number.
• Any work that does not meet these guidelines will not be accepted. Albany Center Gallery retains the right to refuse work that is deemed unsuitable (i.e., hanging devices, content, size, etc)
• Artist should submit artwork information online via Submittable by Monday, June 18 at noon. 
• Artwork Drop-off: Artwork must be delivered to ACG between Tuesday, July 17, noon - 6 p.m. and Thursday, July 19, noon - 6 p.m. 
• Artwork Pick-up: Artwork must be picked up on Saturday, August 19 between noon and 5 p.m. Artwork left longer than 30 days after the closing of the show will become the property of the Albany Center Gallery.
