The Art of Bonsai (All are Welcome!)
Tags: Gallery News
The Mohawk Hudson Bonsai Society and Albany Center Gallery presented the Art of Bonsai on September 25 and 26, 2021 at ACG. Bonsai is the Japanese art form of using cultivation techniques to produce small trees in containers. Beautiful specimen bonsai trees as well as trees in training were on view in the gallery, and stories were told by Bonsai Society Club members as we learned about the ancient and challenging art form. The bonsai trees that were on display were by members of the Mohawk Hudson Bonsai Society.
Gallery hours were Saturday from Noon to 5 p.m. and Sunday from Noon to 4 p.m. Free admission, all are welcome. The 2021 Mohawk Hudson Regional was also on display for viewing.
A bonsai tree is never finished. It is art that is alive and always evolving. Artists can spend decades working with one of their creations. Bonsai in all stages of their journey in development were on display during this special event. Learn about the art of bonsai!
Club members held bonsai demonstrations in the gallery, and the public was invited to bring in their bonsai for advice. The club had bonsai and bonsai materials available for sale during the show. The Mohawk Hudson Bonsai Society meets monthly at PFM Bonsai Studio in West Charlton, NY. For more details, you can visit their website here.
