Curatorial & Gallery Exhibition Assistant(s)
This candidate will work in conjunction with the Executive Director, artists, and the Exhibition and Program committee. This candidate should be available additional hours for show installations, which will be scheduled in agreement with the Executive Director. Approximately 60 – 120 hours per semester.
Examples of work include, but are not limited to the following:
Assist with gallery prep for installation (patching, sanding, painting, sweeping)
Assist with curation of show and installation/de-installation of work
Research and compile information about artists and artwork
Assist with opening receptions and other gallery events
Maintain gallery standards (sweep floors, straighten flyers and newspapers)
Assist with processing artwork sales (record sale, buyer and artist info; notify artist of sale and buyer of pickup date; generate check request for artist commission)
Candidate Requirements:
Has a passion for contemporary art and/or community building
Ability to read measurements, add and subtract on the spot, and problem solve
Some experience with various art media
Proficient with hand-tools
Well organized
Dependable
Creative
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Efficient
