Artistic homecoming

T.E. Breitenbach is a Renaissance man, and not just because he lives in a castle. The Altamont artist, whose solo exhibition, "T.E. Breitenbach: Then and Now" is currently on view at Albany Center Gallery, is most well-known for his paintings, particularly a series called "Proverbidioms." You may have seen posters of his work in your doctor's office waiting room. The paintings illustrate common sayings in compositions packed with detail and act almost like puzzles — viewers see how many of the visual puns they can find.
