Albany Center Gallery (ACG) presents Light Within Layers. The exhibition runs from January 28 to February 28, 2025. Light Within Layers features the works of 8 local and regional artists: Cyndy Barbone, Paula Drysdale-Frazell, Ana Maria Farina, Leah Frankel, Mari Keeler-Cornwell, Lydia Kinney, Carol Levine, and James Paulsen. An Artists' Reception will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 5 - 8 p.m. Light Within Layers is free and open to the public; Tuesday - Saturday, Noon - 5 p.m.
The exhibition delves into the subconscious, shedding light on existence, layer by layer. Artists in this show use various mediums, from fibers to mixed media collage, to further examine and highlight the stories found within us. Light Within Layers focuses on the combinations and modifications of various elements in life - both physical and emotional - that continuously weave together to create new perspectives.
The exhibition is made possible by ACG Premier Sponsor Kevin Dubner, Partner & Wealth Manager at Steward Partners Global Advisory, LLC. Additional support is provided by Carlsbury Gonzalez & Patricia Triller, William Harris, Esq & Holly Katz, Ed Ticson & Shannon Johnson, and the New York Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and New York State Legislature. This exhibition is also made possible in part by the Albany for All funding program and the President's American Rescue Plan (ARPA).
