LOOK! Capital Region Arts Nonprofit Celebrates National Youth Art Month
Albany Center Gallery presents “LOOK!”
Albany Center Gallery (ACG) is pleased to announce LOOK!, a fresh, fun and dynamic event that inspires Capital District youth to nurture and explore their creativity and to re-imagine what art is and can be.
LOOK! benefits ACG’s youth programming during Youth Art Month and highlights the significance of visual art in the Capital Region as an integral part of a comprehensive education.
Attendees will enjoy live painting by budding artists with the support of ACG’s regional artists. This year’s theme is “20/20.” Students will create 20” x 20” works with a focus on how they wish to see the future. Using mixed media, our inspired young artists will create, design and imagine a futuristic world.
National Youth Art Month is a reminder of art’s value in our community. It encourages support for quality art programs that offer students opportunities to foster and develop skills that may not be experienced elsewhere. ACG has been at the forefront of integrating youth arts in its community work, providing access to contemporary art and educational opportunities for inner-city youth, hosting field trips and giving lectures, exhibiting young artists.
It also reminds the community of the importance of art for all age groups, demonstrating the significant support art has and its impact on the culture and youth of the Capital Region.
