ArtStreet Youth Art Workshop

ACG partnered with Grand Street Community Arts for the ArtStreet Youth Art Workshop! Youth created their own unique art pieces, guided by local artist mentors on a subject or topic of their choosing. Their art was then displayed at the Albany Capital Center as a pop-up exhibition. Workshops took place on Saturday, July 10 & 17 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at 68 Grand Street, Albany, NY. Beautiful 2021 Mohawk-Hudson Regional beckons art lovers

"Though you shouldn’t be touching the art, everything in the current 'Invitational' at Albany Center Gallery beckons. And this is not just about the idiosyncratic toy-like sculptures in three dimensions by Kingsley Parker, actual wood and cloth and wire. Heaping Helpings: Free Food Fridge project provides access for Albany residents

“'There’s so many different levels and layers to the project that are changing the narrative for everybody involved. For me, I want to pay as many brown people as possible. I want to feed as many people as I can,' Anderson said. The fridges are stocked daily with food from local farmers, restaurants, organizations and even individuals. Some fridges feature mostly prepared meals while others focus on fresh ingredients and snacks. It all depends on the needs of the neighborhood in which the fridge is located."   Tags: Press Coverage
