COVID 19 update
Update 5/19/2020: Show dates have changed and registration is extended. Please read carefully below for new drop-off and registration dates and deadlines.
After careful consideration of the progression of the pandemic, ACG has decided to postpone the 42nd Annual Photo Regional Salon Show to September. The Photo Regional was originally postponed to June.
The Salon Show will now be hosted from Friday, September 4, 2020, to Friday, September 18 2020. The opening reception will be Friday, September 5, 2020, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, where awardees will be announced. .
Photographers may still register online, or in person, using the links on our website. Pre-registration has been extended through August 28, or you can register in person at one of our drop-off dates August 29 or September 1. Check out our website for more information and guidelines!
The exhibition will be juried by Karen Davis, curator/co-founder of Davis Orton Gallery in Hudson, NY, now in its eleventh year. Upon selection, the gallery will take down and re-install the selected works for the 42nd Annual Photo Regional Juror Select Show, which will be open Friday, September 25, 2020 until Friday, October 2, 2020.

About the Juror:
Davis Orton Gallery exhibits photography, mixed media and trade and artist-published photobooks by a wide range of artists – from emerging to mid-career to established; from the Hudson River Valley, the US and the world. Davis has presented artists whose work speaks to important issues of the region and beyond.
Davis teaches Portfolio Development and Marketing Your Fine Art Photography online for the Griffin Museum of Photography, Winchester MA. She has taught photo-based and word and image art at Lesley University, Radcliffe Seminars/Harvard, Tufts University’s X-College and Suffolk University.
Her photo-based work is featured in a permanent installation at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA) and in the collections of Center for Photography at Woodstock/Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art; Lishui Museum of Photography (China); Houghton Rare Books Library/Printing and Graphic Arts Collection, Harvard University and in corporate and private collections.
About the Photo Regional:
Since the late 1970s, artists within a 125-mile radius of Albany have entered for an opportunity to have their work picked by prestigious jurors for the Annual Photography Regional exhibition. This annual exhibition rotates between its host sites: Collar Works, Troy NY; Albany Center Gallery, and Opalka Gallery at Sage College, Albany, NY. All works must have been completed within the past two years to be eligible to exhibit. Artists must reside within a 125-mile radius of New York's Capital Region. (Artworks previously exhibited in the Photography Regional are not eligible.)
Over $1,000 in prizes will be awarded at the opening reception.

Entrants may submit up to three images, with the following restrictions: INCLUDING MATS AND FRAMES, THE TOTAL COMBINED LENGTH OF THE SUBMISSIONS CANNOT EXCEED 72” TOTAL, AND NO ONE DIMENSION CAN EXCEED 36”. Secret Phrase: "tiny dogs in tiny socks." Save all files LASTNAME_firstname_TITLE
Drop off for the Annual Photography Regional Salon Show will be from Noon - 3:00 PM on Friday, August 29, 2020, or Tuesday, September 1, 2020.
Important: All pieces not chosen for the Annual Photography Regional Juror Select Show MUST be picked up on Saturday, September 19, 2020, or Tuesday, September 22, 2020, between Noon - 3:00 PM but NO LATER THAN 6:00 PM on Tuesday, September, 2020. ACG will not be responsible for pieces left after that date. All pieces left after that date will incur a $5.00 fee per day, and after 30 days the piece becomes property of the gallery.
The 42nd Annual Photography Regional Juror Select Show artist pick up will be on Saturday, October 3, 2020, and Tuesday, October 6, 2020, from Noon - 3:00 PM.
ACG will not accept registration via email. Please register online prior to the drop-off or register in person on drop off days. Artists may drop off up to three ready-to-hang photographs on the dates listed above. Any works not wired or otherwise ready to install will not be accepted. (We will measure all submissions upon drop-off)
The submission fee for ACG members is $30, and $40 for non-ACG members. Must be a valid member through July 2020 to receive ACG member rate.
The gallery retains 25% of all art sales from the show; artists will receive 75% if their work is sold. Please price accordingly. Works may also be “Not For Sale” (“NFS”).
